Solana Mobile has opened up access to its software to Android device manufacturers
According to the press release, installing the toolkit does not disrupt Google Play services or affect device security certification. SMS supports MediaTek and Qualcomm processors, writes forklog.com.
Solana Mobile Stack includes three basic components:
- Seed Vault. A cold key storage system that integrates directly into the phone’s secure hardware chip. Transactions are confirmed via a fingerprint or face scanner.
- Seeker Wallet. An integrated non-custodial wallet that allows you to store, buy and send digital assets, including stablecoins.
- Dapp Store. Provides direct access to decentralized applications. Through it, you can trade cryptocurrencies and make money from staking.
Solana Mobile representatives emphasized that for smartphone manufacturers, SMS integration creates a new source of income. Companies will be able to earn a percentage of transaction and staking fees within the ecosystem. To retain users and balance interests, the platform uses SKR token.
Solana Mobile tested the stack on 200,000 Seeker smartphones. According to the developers, the ecosystem has over 85,000 weekly active wallets. The volume of transactions through the devices has exceeded $5 billion.
Solana Mobile is a division of blockchain company Solana that develops Web3-centric Android smartphones such as Solana Saga and Solana Seeker. These devices combine the functionality of a conventional smartphone with a hardware cryptocurrency wallet, providing secure asset storage, access to dApps via an embedded store (dApp Store), and DeFi/NFT operation.
