The National Office for Infrastructure Development “Moldova-Project” (ONDIMP) evaluates the facilities and decides on the reconstruction. Among the first to be approved is the Center of accommodation for people with disabilities and elderly people in Balti municipality, as well as accommodation centers in Cocieri, Orhei and Chisinau. In total, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection has proposed 22 objects, ONDIMP will continue to evaluate the others.
The accommodation center in Balti, built in 1981, has four residential buildings, an administrative building and a canteen, which are in unsatisfactory technical condition. The renovation project envisages a complete modernization of two residential buildings (blocks 2 and 3), including energy efficiency measures, replacement of roofing, interior and exterior carpentry, as well as all electricity, ventilation, water supply and sewerage networks. The internal premises will also be improved, and after the reconstruction the capacity of the center will increase from 373 to 600 guests.
The project is managed by ONDIMP and financed by the Council of Europe Development Bank.
