The incident took place at the National Football League (U-11) match between Milsami and Spartanii-Sportul (3:1). After several episodes when Cojocaru protested against the decisions of the refereeing team, he received a second yellow card in the 53rd minute and was removed from the bench.
The disciplinary punishment includes a ban on the coach’s participation in the next two matches involving the team he leads. The fine amounted to 300 lei, which he is obliged to pay to the FMF.
Logos Press reported with reference to scor.md that Viorel Cojocaru, former technical director of Spartanii-Sportul, accused the new management of raiding the club with the connivance of the FMF. He also complained about problems with the functioning of the Sportul soccer academy he heads due to the fact that Spartanii’s investor, Ghanaian citizen Nana Yau Amponsah blocked the accounts despite the fact that the academy has no legal relationship with the club.
Cojocaru’s punishment is unrelated to his high profile allegations of raiding Spartanii-Sportul. There has been no FMF reaction to this situation yet
