An agreement on social security between Moldova and Slovakia was signed in Bratislava. This happened within the framework of the official visit of Moldovan President Maia Sandu to Bratislava.
The document was signed by Moldovan Labor and Social Protection Minister Natalia Plugaru and Slovak State Secretary of the Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs and Family Marian Valentovic.
The agreement establishes the basis for guaranteeing the social rights of people who have worked or are working legally on the territory of both countries. On its basis, citizens will be able to receive retirement pensions, disability pensions due to general illness, pensions and allowances due to disability as a result of an industrial accident or occupational disease, as well as survivors’ pensions.
“Moldova is making efforts to expand the number of bilateral agreements in the social security field,” Natalia Plugaru said.
– Each of them reflects our commitment to protect the rights of citizens wherever they are. We will continue to build a system of social protection in the interests of citizens,” Natalia Plugaru said.
It should be recalled that Moldova has signed 22 social security agreements, of which 18 are already applied. In recent years, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection signed social agreements with Italy, Greece, Spain, Latvia, France, Switzerland, Canada and Ukraine.
