Among those employed, 38% are women, 56% are residents of rural areas, and 28% are young people under the age of 35. Every fifth employed person is over 55 years old.
People found jobs in different areas: social services, trade, agriculture, industry, education, health care and public administration.
It should be reminded that 25 thousand people are planned to be employed in Moldova in 2026, which is a quarter of the total number envisaged in the government’s four-year program.
The state continues to take measures to support employment. Thus, the National Employment Agency extended the program of subsidies for the unemployed to start their own business.
The subsidies are intended to cover the basic start-up costs – from the registration of the enterprise to the purchase of equipment, machinery, furniture and transportation for the business. A mandatory condition is the creation of at least one job for the recipient of support.
The amount of assistance is up to 80% of the necessary costs, but does not exceed the equivalent of 20 average monthly salaries in the economy for the previous year.
A total of 9.45 million lei is envisaged for the implementation of this measure in 2026. Citizens over 18 years old, officially registered as unemployed in the territorial subdivisions of the employment service and willing to start entrepreneurial activity can apply.
