The politician was irritated that many participants of the Making Europe Great Again (MEGA) conference were not allowed to enter Moldova on the recommendation of the Moldovan Information and Security Service. Among them were about 10 members of the AUR party.

This event, already the fourth one, was organized in Chisinau by the National Foundation of Romanians Everywhere. This foundation was created by Eugen Popescu, current advisor of the AUR group in the Romanian Senate.

At the opening of the conference, AUR leader George Simion delivered a pre-recorded video message, as he has been banned from entering Moldova and Ukraine for five years, allegedly because of his ties to Russian intelligence services.

“I remind Mrs. Maia Sandu that more than 5 million Romanians who voted for me buy products from the Republic of Moldova. Her hostile attitude towards the sovereignty movement should not harm citizens!” – Simion wrote on social media.

Moldova’s Information and Security Service said in a statement on Monday that several individuals have been banned from entering Moldova (to attend the MEGA conference) “on the basis of constant monitoring of activities that could lead to destabilization and foreign interference.”

In addition to AUR party members, several officials from Europe and the United States, who were supposed to participate in the “Make Europe Great Again” conference, were not allowed to enter Moldova.

They are Slovak MEP Ondrej Dostal (who participated in the parade in Moscow on May 9), the speaker of the Greek sovereigntist party NIKI Dimos Thanasoulas and the American conservative activist Brian Brown.

It is true that Brown was initially stopped at the Chisinau airport, but on Monday he said in a publication on the X network that he still managed to enter the territory of Moldova and take part in the event.
