Elijah Odede intends to continue in "Troyes" what he started in "Sheriff" - to strengthen the offensive line

Odede moved to Sheriff from Nigerian club Ikon Allah in February 2025. The amount of the deal was not disclosed, so it is difficult to determine how much the club earned on the transfer.

Since joining Tiraspol Wasps, the 18-year-old striker has played in 25 Super League, Moldovan Cup, Europa League and Conference League matches, in which he scored eight goals. Odede’s last appearance for Sheriff was in the match of the 10th round of the Super League with Milsami (1:1), then he played all 90 minutes. He was not included in the matchday 11 match against CSF Bălți.

Elijah Odede signed a contract with Troyes until 2030. Representatives of the French club described him as a “fast and sharp dribbler”, who is designed to strengthen the attack and will develop in an environment favorable to young talents.

The previous record for transfers in the history of the Moldovan championships dates back to 2007, when Sheriff sold Romanian midfielder Rezvan Cochis to Lokomotiv Moscow (Russia) for €2.6 million. Only Sheriff appears in the top ten of the most expensive transfers of footballers at participating clubs (see table).

According to the Transfermarkt service, among other clubs the most expensive of those transfers, in which the amount of the deal was made public, were the sale by the club “Sfântul Gheorghe” (Suruceni village, Ialoveni district) of Nigerian striker Djibril Ibrahim in 2022 for €250 thousand. to Romanian club Universitatea Craiova and the transfer of Moldovan striker Emil Tymbur from Zimbru to Torpedo (Zhodino, Belarus) for €150k, realized in 2018.

The most expensive acquisitions in the Moldovan championships were Georgios Athanasiadis, in 2021 taken by “Sheriff” on loan from Greek AEK for €250 thousand), and Amin Talal, who was acquired by Tiraspol in 2023 for the same amount from French club “Bastia”.
