The squad includes 27 players, of whom only five represent Moldovan clubs, the rest play in foreign championships (see table). For the first time, Serghei Cleșcenco called up defender Ion Bors and midfielders Stefan Bytka, Sergiu Perciun and Vica Bulmaga to the national team.

In this squad the national team of Moldova will play two upcoming matches – a friendly with Poland (June 6) and a game with Italy (June 9) in the qualifying tournament for the World Cup-2026. Both matches will be played away – in Chorzów (Poland) and Reggio Emilia (Italy).

After two rounds, the “tricolor” occupy the last, 5th place in Group I of the qualifying tournament. The standings are headed by the national team of Norway with 6 points, the national teams of Estonia and Israel – on the second and third positions, respectively. The Italian national team will enter the fight on June 6 with a match against Norway.
