Within the framework of the project, more than 100 thousand children and about 15 thousand teachers will be able to use the provided equipment to improve the quality of education and master modern digital knowledge.
The beneficiary institutions are among the 200 schools and 200 kindergartens selected through an open competition organized earlier by the Ministry of Education and Science to be equipped with new furniture, modern equipment and didactic and methodological materials. The decision to purchase the equipment is made directly by the administrations of educational institutions, and most of the supplies have already been made during 2025, the ministry said.
“The Ministry of Education and Culture continues to modernize the country’s educational institutions to increase access to modern educational technologies and updated teaching resources for both urban and rural institutions. The equipping of institutions represents a concrete step in the creation of a modern and competitive education system capable of meeting current and future challenges,” said Marcelina Baleka, head of the ministry’s directorate in the transfer of the equipment.
The initiative is part of a large-scale investment program in the education sector, which includes the development and digitalization of the educational process, modernization of school infrastructure and improvement of learning conditions. In recent years, in partnership with international organizations and development partners, including the World Bank, the cumulative investments amounted to more than 500 million lei in educational institutions, infrastructure and services, the Education and Science Ministry said.
