According to a report by the Finance Ministry, 60 million lei were initially allocated to the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization for the implementation of the Program of Compensation for the increase in electricity prices for enterprises from the food and manufacturing sectors. They were fully used in the first quarter of last year to cover the difference in electricity supply prices.
The remaining funds were provided to the local authorities of Dubasari district (in the villages of Cocieri, Cosnita, Pirita, Molovata Noue, Dorotcaia). The funds for them, amounting to 2.744 million lei, were distributed according to the approved government decisions. In reality, the financing was realized at the level of 1.440 million lei. While Cocieri and Molovata Noue were fully financed, the other villages received the funds in a reduced amount. Dorotcaia received only 315 thousand lei out of 1,362.5 million lei. Pirita received 129.5 thousand lei out of 244.2 thousand lei, Cosnita received 726.5 thousand lei out of 868.3 thousand lei.
The money was meant to ensure the continuous functioning of institutions and public services that are at risk of crisis situations – electricity and natural gas supply interruption.
Recall that the government’s intervention fund is meant to finance urgent expenses related to the liquidation of the consequences of natural disasters, as well as in case of epidemics and other emergencies of man-made, natural and socio-biological character.
