Recall that on January 1, Cyprus began a rotating presidency of the Council of the EU for a period of six months. The presidency program focuses on EU enlargement, which is seen as a strategic investment in the autonomy and security of the Union, as well as an instrument to strengthen peace and stability in Europe. Moldova is mentioned twice in the program. In particular, “the Presidency seeks further significant progress in the enlargement process for the partners from the Western Balkans, as well as for Ukraine and Moldova”.
