As a result of the laboratory examination, PVD detected the presence of Salmonella Infantis bacteria in frozen boneless chicken meat produced in Ukraine by Qualiko, the batch number of which is “03.10.2025”.
During laboratory tests, Salmonella Infantis bacteria were detected in a 500-gram chicken half wing marinated in barbecue sauce produced in Poland with batch number “2235043368”.
It is noted that the shelf life of this product had already expired.
PVD placed an information notice on the detected cases in the European Union (EU) Rapid Alert System.
PVD is a state agency under the Ministry of Agriculture, which carries out state supervision and control in the field of food circulation and veterinary medicine.
Last week, Moldova and Ukraine agreed on the conditions for resuming poultry meat supplies. This was reported by the Moldovan Food Safety Agency (ANSA) on March 4 following talks with representatives of the Ukrainian Food Safety and Consumer Protection Service.
“The dialog was constructive. The parties not only discussed the existing technical problems, but also agreed on a clear algorithm of actions that will restore the market of frozen and chilled poultry meat through the implementation of a reliable mechanism of joint control,” ANSA said.
