In the gold medal match in the 39 kg weight category, 13-year-old Rusalina lost 0:10 to Russia’s Daria Maslennikova, who competed under a neutral flag. On her way to the grand final, the Moldovan athlete defeated Marlen Takk of Estonia (4:1), Charlene Victoria Maure of Italy (8:0) and Andrada Elena Dinte of Romania (7:0).

Oksana Tăbecaru, representing Moldova in the 33 kg weight category, lost in the small final, conceding the bronze medal to Turkey’s Damla Beyyan (1:10). Anna Puiu in the 42 kg category also stopped one step away from the bronze medal, losing to Romania’s Valia Georgiana Harsan (7:7) in the match for third place (the last point was scored by the Moldovan athlete’s opponent, so she was awarded the victory).

Jasmina Carabet did not pass the qualifying round in the 36 kg weight category, and in the heavier category (up to 46 kg), Alexandrina Marchuk did not take advantage of the opportunity to reach the small final, losing to Italy’s Michelle Cecca 5:10 in the additional qualifying round.

Athletes from 26 European countries took part in the women’s wrestling competition.
