(including facilities of foreign partners).
The “lunar program” will not only build a power plant, but also carry out the development of spacecraft and deployment of the necessary infrastructure on the Moon.
“The project is an important step towards the creation of a permanently functioning scientific lunar station and the transition from one-off missions to a long-term lunar exploration program,” the statement said.
In addition to Roscosmos, Rosatom and the Kurchatov Institute are named as participants in the project.
Turkish Anadolu Agency in connection with this information recalls that Roscosmos State Corporation and the Chinese National Space Administration (CNSA) signed a memorandum in May 2025 to build a power plant for the International Scientific Station on the Moon. “The Russian power plant will be an important contribution to the project of the International Scientific Lunar Station, which is planned to be established by 2036,” Roscosmos said at the time.
