Romania introduced 24-hour phytosanitary control at the border

This control covers plants, plant products, wood and wood products and other goods of plant origin. Until now, the working hours of phytosanitary inspectors at all BCPs, except Otopeni airport, have been from 7:00 to 19:00.

Now at the checkpoints Albita, Galati, Halmeu, Sculeni and Siret a permanent work schedule of phytosanitary control specialists has been established. At the other BCPs, the schedule remains the same.

If goods are not delivered by road or rail, phytosanitary inspectors will control them upon request.

The list of border control points where official phytosanitary control is organized, as well as their working schedule, was published in the Official Gazette of Romania on 10 June.
