European funding in the amount of 1.6 million euros has been allocated for the realization of the project. The funds will be invested in medical infrastructure, modern equipment and training of medical personnel on both sides of the Prut, said the chairman of the Galati County Council, Kostel Fotja.

The money will be spent as follows.

More than 1.3 million euros will be allocated for the construction and equipping of a new building of the Târgu Bujor City Hospital. The building (G+1 mode), energy efficient and adapted to modern standards, will house the emergency department and internal medicine department with modern wards (2-3 beds, separate bathroom), air conditioners and doctor’s offices.

The new 600 square meter building will be equipped with the most modern equipment: ultrasound machines, intensive care unit beds, electrocardiographs, defibrillators, vital signs monitors, oxygen sockets and other necessary equipment designed to ensure safe and effective medical care for patients.

With the remaining money, the authorities of Hincesti rayon in Draguseni Noi (Moldova) will modernize a family doctor’s office within the framework of the same project.

In addition, the project includes an exchange of experience between medical professionals and first aid courses for 1,100 students and teachers from Galati County and Hincesti District.
