This was revealed by the Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, Eugeniu Osmochescu.

Clear criteria will be applied to identify products that pose a health or safety hazard, such as the type of hazard, the severity of possible injuries and the categories of consumers at risk. Depending on the level of hazard, measures such as sales restrictions, product withdrawals or recalls may be prescribed.

The new rules will apply to everyday products, from toys and children’s products to cosmetics, household appliances or electrical equipment that pose a risk of fire.

In this way, products that can cause burns, poisoning or electric shocks will be able to be detected before accidents occur. The methodology allows for prompt notification of dangerous goods through alert systems so that risks are prevented rather than simply penalized later.
