Residents of the capital received 3 million lei for their projects

The Chisinau City Hall announced the launch of the 2026 Civic Budget program, in which residents of the capital can submit proposals for projects according to the needs and priorities of the districts in which they live, Logos Press reported.

Citizen’s budget is a mechanism for involving citizens in decision-making to bring local government policies in line with the needs and expectations of residents.

A budget of 3 million lei is envisaged annually for the implementation of the program. Small projects worth up to 100 thousand lei and large projects worth up to 300 thousand lei will be financed from the announced amount. The projects must meet the selection criteria and the established budgets.

Priorities for financing

The program accepts concrete initiatives on territorial improvement and reconstruction of public spaces, improvement of urban mobility, cultural and social infrastructure, innovation and energy efficiency. Projects to involve citizens in the decision-making process at the local level, as well as in education, sports and other areas of public interest are welcome.

To participate in the Civic Budget Program, those wishing to participate must submit an application, as well as proof of co-financing, a list of signatures in support of the project and, if necessary, supporting documents by February 28, 2026 inclusive.

According to the regulations, co-financing is 1% for individuals and 20% for legal entities.
