In social networks, he expressed indignation at the statements of the head of ANRE, Alexei Taran, who rejected the idea of reducing the gas tariff with retroactive application.

“Only Moldovan citizens can be deceived in this way! You can take money from people’s pockets retroactively, but you cannot return it retroactively. How is it so?” – asks Renato Usatii.

He recalled that the faction of “Our Party” at a press conference in Parliament demanded an urgent reduction of the gas tariff with retroactive application, starting from January 1, 2026. In response, the ANRE leadership said that such a measure was “legally incorrect” and technically impossible, as it would require recalculation of about 830 thousand bills.

Renato Usatii disputes these arguments and claims that the authorities have acted differently in the past, when the tariff was significantly increased. He recalled that in 2022 the gas tariff was increased with retroactive application, and the same PAS authority claimed that the decision was made “in strict compliance with the law”.

“So, when it came to taking money from people, it could be done retroactively. And now, when it is necessary to return them, it has suddenly become legally impossible?” – Renato Usatii said, accusing ANRE management and energy sector companies of “bullying citizens.”
