The new product reinterprets the brand’s signature design in a sleeker format, while maintaining a recognizable aesthetic and attention to detail.
The Cape Cod model first appeared in 1991, according to The Watch Pages. Its designer, Henri d’Origny, created a case with a distinctive square-in-rectangle architecture. The geometry, inspired by the Chaîne d’ancre anchor chain motif, has over time become one of the most recognizable in the Maison’s portfolio.
Now the design has been given a more compact reading: the case measures 27×20 mm. The reduced proportions emphasize the smooth curve of the lines and neat finishes – from laconic polished versions to jewel-encrusted versions. The model is available in steel or yellow gold.
The dials come in the brand’s signature palette: argenté, étoupe, ardoise, doré and Rouge H, shades long associated with the Hermès visual code. They are complemented by Swift or Chamkilight leather straps that are soft, supple and tactilely expressive. Classic single straps are available, as well as double straps that wrap around the wrist in the recognizable Cape Cod style.
A Swiss quartz movement is responsible for accuracy, while water resistance up to 3 bar makes the model practical for everyday wear.
The Cape Cod Mini is not just a smaller version of an iconic design, but a subtle emphasis on the idea of “quiet luxury”: delicate, thoughtful and impeccably executed.
