Prices for agricultural products increased by 30.5% in January-March

The National Bureau of Statistics has released data on the dynamics of price indices for agricultural products. In particular, prices for vegetable products increased by 44.1 percent on average; prices for livestock products decreased by 1.8 percent on average.

Producer prices for crop products in the first quarter of this year, compared with the corresponding period of the previous year, significantly increased for sunflower – by 57.1%, seed crops – by 40.4%, cereals and leguminous crops – by 38.1% (especially corn for grain – by 39.6%), rapeseed – by 34.3%.

However, producer prices decreased for grapes – by 42.0% and soybeans – by 10.7%.

In the segment of livestock products, selling prices for live weight animals dropped by 2.7%, for cow’s milk – by 1.6%. But producer prices for table eggs rose by 7.3%.

The data are presented for agricultural enterprises, peasant (private) farms owning agricultural land of 50 hectares or more or having farm animals on the balance sheet. They reflect the dynamics of average prices, which were formed on the basis of actual realization of agricultural products produced by them.
