Popshoy thanked NATO for more than 30 years of cooperation under the Partnership for Peace program.
“Thanks to this cooperation, Moldova’s democratic reforms have become stronger and the country’s institutional resilience higher. Now that Moldova can confidently stand on its feet after several electoral cycles, during which we managed to resist interference, we look forward to more active cooperation,” the Moldovan foreign minister added.
For his part, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that he sincerely admires what Moldova is doing and emphasized the continuation of the Alliance’s close cooperation with Moldova.
“For its part, NATO looks forward to continuing to work together, especially as you implement an ambitious reform program. And where we can be helpful, we want to help as much as we can and continue to work closely together. Your leadership is very important and you should know that you have many friends in this building,” Rutte said.
