The Inspector General of Police announced a tender for the purchase of a GPS system worth 500 thousand lei, VAT excluded, for 300 connections of the fleet. The price includes installation, connection and maintenance of the system.
The police cars will be equipped with high-performance GPS equipment, compatible with 4G technology, with the possibility to remotely download data from the tachograph and driver’s card. Connection is via SIM card with 1 GB internet traffic per subscriber.
The system is available on both computers and mobile devices and allows flexible customization of the application interface, map display, alerts and sound signals.
With the new platform, police will be able to monitor not only routes and speeds, but also driving styles, receive notifications of sudden accelerations or turns, speeding and entering or leaving restricted areas. The data will be stored in a system with the possibility of integration with electronic trip tickets and accounting systems.
Earlier, the Inspector General of Police said that in 2026 he will spend almost 1.5 million lei on repairs and maintenance of his fleet vehicles.
