Among the priorities, she named the need to revise the system of remuneration of the institution’s employees, stressing that without raising and equalizing salaries, the effective work of the body is impossible.
“The salary is about 40 thousand lei – and this is only for the chairman. However, one person will not do anything there, a team of specialists should work,” Cebotarev said.
The chairwoman of the Competition Council also pointed out the staff shortage in the institution, emphasizing that this is the main problem of the authority.
The new head named strengthening the legislative base and eliminating existing gaps in the authority of the agency as a separate priority. According to her, the development should take into account the obligations to the European Union.
“Without a clear and stable regulatory framework with clearly defined powers, we cannot move forward,” she said.
In addition, the new chairwoman drew attention to the need to increase transparency and communication with society so that the decisions of the agency would be understandable to citizens and businesses.
Answering the deputies’ questions about possible cartel collusion in the market of fuel and oil products, she did not rule out the existence of violations, but refrained from specific assessments until a deeper analysis of the situation. At the same time, she promised that she had “noted the issue for herself.”
“We understand that there are possible cartel agreements that have yet to be established. We understand – everybody wants things to happen quickly, but there are certain norms, standards and legislative procedures that need to be followed. This will be one of the tasks that I intend to fulfill within my mandate,” Chebotarev said.
She also considers it advisable to analyze and possibly investigate the situation on the real estate market.
Previously, Alina Chebotarev held the position of deputy director of the Organization for Development of Entrepreneurship (ODA). She replaced Alexei Gherțescu in her new position.
