At the same time, according to farmers’ associations, the application process for post-investment subsidies has not yet been finalized. Traditionally, a significant number of applications for subsidies of this type are received by the Agency for Interventions and Subsidies in Agriculture AIPA in the last days of the December application cycle. According to its results, it is possible that the amount of subsidy arrears will increase to 1.7-1.8 billion lei.
Commenting on this situation, Agriculture and Food Ministry Minister Ludmila Catlabuga said that the subsidy arrears are a reason for joy, as “it shows that farmers are investing in this sector”.
In turn, farmers are afraid that due to the budget deficit they will not receive the subsidies due for 2025 until 2027.
