The resignation is effective as of March 27, 2026. The application was filed on the basis of the Law on the Status of the Deputy regulating incompatibility of positions, according to which a deputy cannot simultaneously carry out paid concert activities.

On the maestro’s last working day in the legislature, many deputies took pictures with him as a souvenir.

“I can only tell you one thing that I have long wanted to talk about and share. Namely what I feel when I sit in this chair. This chair is for the people who will come after me and maybe do a little more than I did. I have 49 years to do nothing but lead the Leutarius Orchestra and bring the biggest and most beautiful successes to the country,” said Botgros.

In accordance with the Law on the Status of Deputy, the vacant mandate will be transferred to the next candidate on the list from the reserve list of the PAS party. One deputy seat has been declared vacant in this regard.

The National Orchestra of Folk Instruments “Leutarius” was founded in 1970. Nicolae Botgros has been its permanent director since 1978.
