For the whole country
According to the minister, within the “Europe Close” program, the first tranche of 500 million lei will be allocated to about 100 settlements, where about 130 km of roads and sidewalks will be repaired or built from scratch. In particular, villages with up to 1,500 inhabitants will receive up to 2 million lei. Villages with the same population can count on 5 million lei, if they are in the process of unification. Villages with more than 1,500 inhabitants have a chance to realize projects worth 9 million lei, if they make their own contribution of 10% of this amount.
All mayoralties, together with local residents, will independently decide which projects are their priority.
Applications for participation in the “Europe Close” program can be submitted from April 8 to May 12, 2025. The application method is similar to the one used in the “European Village” project, where 1600 applications for projects were submitted.
The settlements selected for the “European Village” program can also apply for the “Europe Close” project. According to the Minister, in this case there is no mandatory condition for the completion of the first project (such a requirement existed in Satul European 2).
The money for the implementation of the “Europe Close” program is provided for in the “PLUS Budget” and comes from the EU. The three phases of the European Village project (Satul European 1, Satul European Express and Satul European 2) were fully financed from the national budget.
For mun. Chisinau
“For the first time, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development has developed a program for the capital aimed at modernizing the yards of high-rise buildings. It will also be available to the suburbs of mun. Chisinau. At the meetings we hold with citizens, they often talk about problems with the condition of the courtyards of high-rise buildings. Despite the fact that the city has a lot of problems, and it is necessary to solve them. For the project “European courtyard in Chisinau mun. Chisinau” other funds have been allocated. The first tranche will amount to 100 million lei, approximately 5 million lei for each courtyard,” Vladimir Bolia said.
The program is open to homeowners’ associations that have created condominiums, as well as to initiative groups of at least five owners. The application can be submitted on the website curteaeuropeana.md, which will be opened on April 9 on the ADR Chișinău web portal. Applications will be accepted until April 25, 2025.
