New form of employment

Members of the Committee on Social Protection, Health and Family have reviewed draft amendments to several normative acts and intend to submit them for a vote in Parliament in the second reading. The draft provides for the transposition of a number of EU directives in the field of labor and social protection.

Information about work through a temporary employment agency will be sent to the State Labor Inspectorate (ISM), which is obliged to keep relevant records. Failure to notify the ISM of activities related to work through a temporary employment agency will be punishable under the new provisions of the Contravention Code.

The legislative initiative contains new provisions regarding working hours and sufficient rest for workers. It provides for the reduction of working hours for workers who work at night. The document also aims to ensure the safety and labor protection of persons under 18 years of age. It establishes the duration of working time for this category of persons, specifies working conditions and compliance with the daily rest regime.

The draft also contains provisions concerning self-employed workers.

The emergence of temporary workers will make it possible to meet the staffing needs of economic entities in periods of peak load or temporarily replace part of the employees (for the period of maternity leave, sick leave, vacation, study, parental leave, etc.), the authors of the initiative argue the amendments.
