Compared to previous years, the volume of identified material discrepancies increased: compared to 2024 by 36.2%, reaching the highest level in the analyzed period.
At the same time, the volume of fines also increased. During the year, sanctions amounting to over 1.15 million lei were imposed, of which about 548.6 thousand lei were actually collected. The main part of fines is related to violations in the submission of declarations – most often it is about late submission or their complete absence. Significant amounts are also attributed to cases of non-declaration of conflicts of interest.
The largest amounts of fines were imposed on heads of state organizations (23%) and local councillors (21%), followed by civil servants with special status (19% of the total amount of fines imposed).
In a number of cases, violations resulted not only in fines, but also in prohibition to hold public office.
At the same time, the budget of the institution itself increased to 27.46 million lei in 2025, which is 21.5% more compared to the previous year. The bulk of the expenses, as before, went to the remuneration of employees.
