
This follows from the latest edition of the World Bank’s Global Economic Prospects report for June 2025. It should be noted that the World Bank’s Global Economic Prospects report for January 2025 stated that the WB maintained Moldova’s GDP growth forecast for 2025 and 2026 at 3.9% and 4.5%, respectively.
According to preliminary data of the National Bureau of Statistics, Moldova’s GDP in 2024 amounted to 323 billion 817 million lei and increased by 0.1%, compared to 2023.
Earlier it was reported that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development reduced the forecast of Moldova’s GDP growth in 2025 from 2% to 1.8%, but kept the forecast for 2026 at 3.8%.
The IMF reduced the forecast of Moldova’s GDP growth in 2025 from 3.7% to 0.6%. At the same time, the Fund’s experts forecast Moldova’s economic growth by 2.5% in 2026, and by 5% at the end of the next 5-year period (2030).
The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization forecasts a 2% growth of Moldova’s economy in 2025, and in 2026, expects economic growth of 2.4%.
