Moldova’s European course will be supported by speakers from the Baltic States

The leaders of the Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian parliaments will pay an official visit to Moldova on February 2-4, 2026, at the invitation of their Moldovan counterpart Igor Grosu, Logos Press reports.

According to the parliament’s press service, the heads of the Baltic legislative bodies will visit Moldova within a program on the consolidation of the parliamentary dialogue.

Estonian Riigikogu Speaker Lauri Hussar, Latvian Seimas Speaker Daiga Mierinja and Lithuanian Seimas Speaker Juozas Olekas will hold a meeting with Igor Grosu on 2 February. The meeting will be followed by a joint press conference of the speakers of the Moldovan, Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian parliaments.

At the opening of the spring session on February 3, the guests from the Baltics will address a solemn meeting of the Moldovan parliament at 10:30. Also on the agenda are meetings with the chairmen of the Moldovan legislature’s factions.

The program of the official visit also includes meetings of the speakers with Moldovan President Maia Sandu, Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gerasimov and Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Valeriu Kiverem.

The heads of the Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian parliaments, together with the president of the Moldovan parliament, will visit the Calarasi municipality, where they will meet representatives of the local public authorities, business circles and citizens. They will familiarize themselves with the activity of the local business incubator created with the support of the European Union.
