
According to the Civil Aviation Authority, Chisinau Airport served 4.15 million passengers in 2024, 46% more than a year earlier. The reason for the increased flow is the resumption of flights, as well as the launch of new routes.
The leader in passenger transportation is FlyOne. The company transported more than 1.36 million passengers, taking 33% of the market. It has been operating for about 9 years and has subsidiaries in Armenia and Romania.
HiSky is in second place: it has 20% of the market and 818.6 thousand passengers carried.
Next are foreign carriers: Wizz Air – 452.9 thousand passengers (11% of the market) and Turkish Airlines – 416.1 thousand passengers (10% of the market).
Significant passenger traffic was carried by LOT from Poland, Austrian Airlines, MGA Airlines, Tarom from Romania, Pegasus Airlines, Sky Vision Airlines, Azerbaijan Airlines, IsrAir, Eurowings, Air Anka, Sky Expres, and Air Baltic.
Antalya and Istanbul (Turkey), London, Sharm el Sheikh (Egypt), Tel Aviv, Milan, Warsaw, Vienna, Yerevan and Bucharest were among the top 10 destinations.
OSA notes that the revenue of the aviation sector in 2024 will amount to 7.1 billion lei, while the payment of taxes and fees to the budget will amount to 376.8 million lei.
