The Ministry of Health, which developed the project, argues that the current regulations do not meet EU standards, and the proposed changes will improve the quality of dispensary monitoring of workers.

The document proposes to expand the network of providers of specialized medical services. Enterprises and institutions will be able to organize their own labor medicine offices. It also provides for the creation of individual occupational medicine offices, which will be able to provide services primarily for small and medium-sized enterprises.

It is also proposed that observations of workers’ health should be carried out less frequently – not once a year, but every two or even three years, depending on the specific risks at each workplace. That is, workers with a low level of occupational risk will be able to undergo examinations less frequently.

Taking into account the proposed changes, by increasing the interval between examinations, employers will be able to reduce costs by more than 60% over three years.

Today, only about 9% of employees undergo periodic examinations,” says the Ministry of Health.
