Main Cadet competitions

The World Cadet Championships bring together the world’s best judokas under the age of 18. At last year’s championship, held in Sofia (Hungary), 550 athletes from 71 countries took part.

World championships among young judokas have been held since 2009, and since 2022 they have been held annually. This year, Ecuador is entrusted to host the championship, athletes will come to Guayaquil at the end of August.

There is experience

The Ministry of Education and Research welcomed the IJF’s decision to hold the tournament in our country and confirmed its intention to provide all the necessary support.

Although the World Cadet Championships will be held in Moldova for the first time, there is already experience of holding such representative tournaments. Last year the European Youth Championships took place in Chisinau, where more than 200 athletes from 37 countries took part.
