
Under the arrangements, the International Party will conduct a risk assessment based on the data provided and develop a plan for doping testing of Athletes. It will also provide independent testing, biological passport monitoring and review of therapeutic use applications.
The National Agency will retain responsibility for results management, education programs and in-country athlete outreach.
Special attention is being paid to aligning the system with the requirements of the World Anti-Doping Code.
“Strong National Anti-Doping Organizations are the foundation of trust in the global system. By combining the Moldovan National Anti-Doping Agency’s knowledge of national sport with ITA’s independent expertise, we are strengthening key elements of the program. The ITA was created to support the fight against doping around the world, and we are pleased to assist the Moldova NAAD. This is an important step towards increasing independence and improving anti-doping governance in Moldova,” said Benjamin Cohen, Director General of the International Testing Agency.
For his part, the head of the national agency, Artem Jucov, emphasized that the partnership opens access to international expertise and contributes to the development of the system in the interest of clean sport:
“The partnership with ITA allows us to strengthen key areas of our work and benefit from international expertise. This is an important step in the development of our system in compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code and in the interest of clean athletes in Moldova”.
