Moldova starts exporting wine to Armenia

Armenia and Moldova are planning to expand cooperation in the field of winemaking, the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Economy reported after the visit of Deputy Minister of Economy Arman Khojoyan and Chairman of the Foundation for Viticulture and Winemaking Zaruhi Muradyan to our country, Logos Press reports.

Moldova starts exporting wine to Armenia

Within the framework of the working visit, a meeting was held with Moldovan Minister of Agriculture Ludmila Catlabuga. During the meeting, the sides discussed the possibilities of expanding cooperation between Armenia and Moldova in the field of agriculture, in particular, wine-making. They also discussed the state policy implemented in this sphere, the state support instruments used, current problems and ways to solve them.

After that, the Armenian delegation had a meeting with the leadership of the National Bureau of Grapes and Wine (NBGW) of Moldova. In the course of the exchange of views the issues of keeping the register of vineyards, mechanisms of creation and functioning of the isotope bank, organization and management of purchases, implementation of the system of geographical indications, as well as best practices in the field of evaluation and quality control of wine were discussed.

It should be noted that, according to the Armenian Customs Service, in the first half of 2025 this country imported 238,000 liters of Moldovan wine (a year earlier there were no imports from Moldova) with a customs value of $214,700. At the same time, there are no exports of Armenian spirits to Moldova.
