This platform, launched for the first time by the World Bank, brings together heads of specialized institutions, experts and project implementers in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources.
In her speech at the forum, State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy Carolina Novak spoke about the reforms that are being carried out in the energy sector of Moldova. Thus, in the National Comprehensive Energy and Climate Plan, Moldova has set itself the goal of reducing energy consumption by 0.8% annually. And also to improve the energy efficiency of 0.8% of all buildings in the country every year and 3% of the area of administrative buildings, central public administration bodies.
Last year, the National Center for Sustainable Energy (CNED) launched the Housing Energy Efficiency Fund (FEERM), which plans to renovate over 0.5 million square meters of housing. FEERM investments in the period 2024-2026 are expected to bring total energy savings of at least 14.4 thousand tons of oil equivalent, which will reduce the population’s costs for energy resources consumed during this period by at least 120 million lei.
Termoelectrica is implementing a program under which 88% of houses connected to the centralized heating system will be equipped with individual heating points (ITP), and 60% of houses in Chisinau will switch to horizontal distribution of the coolant. A number of programs for the energy modernization of public buildings have been launched in the public sector, including dozens of hospitals, schools and other educational institutions.
