
In addition to Moldova, the top 3 largest importers of Ukrainian tomatoes include Poland (34.1%) and Romania (1.1%). At the same time, the Moldovan share in external supplies of tomatoes from Ukraine is decreasing: a year earlier it amounted to 86%.
At the same time, the Ukrainian export of tomatoes has also decreased significantly, by about one third. Last year, it amounted to an almost symbolic 553 tons, Interfax Ukraine reported.
Ukrainian imports of tomatoes also increased by about a third, to 105 thousand tons, last year. Moldova imported about 14 thousand tons of tomatoes. Both countries are almost net importers of these vegetables. The main supplier in both cases is Turkey.
