The list was compiled by the analytical portal Numbeo based on the prices of large eggs in 2025.
At the top of the list is Belarus, where 12 eggs cost on average about $1.60 dollars, followed by Kosovo and Ukraine, where the price is below $2.
The Republic of Moldova ranks 5th in this ranking with an average price of about $2.43 for 12 eggs. Also among the countries with relatively low prices are Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Northern Macedonia and Baltic countries such as Estonia and Lithuania.
On the other hand, in many other European countries eggs are considerably more expensive. For example, in Germany, Italy or the UK, the price for 12 eggs exceeds $3.8 to $4, while in Scandinavian countries such as Sweden, Norway or Denmark it can reach almost $5. The highest price in the list is recorded in Switzerland, where a pack of 12 eggs costs on average about $7.9.
