Moldova in the Guinness Book of Records

The most famous record belongs to the winery “Mileštije Mić”, which holds the world championship for the largest wine collection with more than 1.5 million bottles stored in 55 kilometers of underground limestone tunnels.

The Cricova winery is also present in this edition, having the largest underground wine cellar stretching over 120 kilometers of tunnels.

However, Moldova’s records are registered not only in the wine sector.

There were 3 female prime ministers in Moldova. Our country shared this record with Finland, Poland, Great Britain and New Zealand, where the same number of women headed the government.

Petru Costin entered the Guinness Book of Records with the largest horseshoe collection of 3200 items, and now he has increased it to more than 15,000 items.

Olga Buyanovskaya created the largest soap bubble. Its dome was 1.23 m³ (43.43 feet³). Buyanovskaya’s soap bubble was almost twice as big as the previous record holder, created by a Chinese man in 2018.

And Ludmila Cuptor created the largest painting on water in the Ebru technique in 2025 with the support of the Chisinau City Hall. It was created directly on the water surface and then transferred to a special canvas. The 39.97 square meter work depicts a Moldovan plain full of greenery and flowers in the height of spring, filling the soul with a sense of peace and contentment.

The country also attracts attention with unusual statistics, including the highest per capita consumption of apples and the highest concentration of ATMs.

Other notable records include the Museum of Architecture and Cookery in the village of Ternovca near Tiraspol, – the world’s largest bottle-shaped building, also called the Spirit Museum Hotel.

And sommelier Daniel Frumusacchi, who also received a pass to the Guinness Book of Records and inspired a new generation of local talent.

The record of 18 pistol squats with a 40 lb (about 18 kg) backpack in one minute was set by Dmytro Tuchak in December 2021. Dmytro participates in international streetlifting competitions and is a true fitness enthusiast.

The record of 69 jumps over a long jump rope at the same time, on inflated autocameras, in one minute was set by the Moldovan group Cheban in Milan, in February 2023. The record was set as part of the TV show Lo Show Dei Record. The band Cheban became the first holder of this unique record.

A Moldovan citizen helped set a new Guinness record in January 2025. Dana Muntean, together with 195 women from all over the world, received a mention in this honorable edition for the largest number of nationalities that took vocal part in the recording of one musical composition.

The 195 participants in the recording were one woman from each UN-recognized country in the world. All of the participants vocalized the word “equality” in their national language or native dialect. The composition incorporates healing sound frequencies, particularly the 528 Hz frequency – the so-called “love frequency” – to launch a global movement and raise awareness of gender equality.

These achievements show that Moldova is not just a small country in the heart of Europe, but an amazing world leader in the cultural and gastronomic sphere.
