The abolition of GOST means that all laboratories must adjust their accreditation areas to international and European ISO and EN standards. In the absence of an equivalent standard, laboratories can develop internal procedures or seek support from the Standardization Institute of Moldova to select alternative documents.

In order to simplify the accreditation process, the National Accreditation Center of the Republic of Moldova (MOLDAC) and the National Institute of Metrology (INM) held a meeting with registered laboratories to discuss how to accept reports, the deadlines for their verification and product control. They discussed how to accept laboratory reports correctly, how much time is needed for their verification and how to control products. Following the meeting, the parties agreed on common rules and practical solutions to make the process transparent, understandable and compliant with regulatory requirements.

All changes in documentation and accreditation areas must be submitted to MOLDAC for evaluation and approval by the end of 2026.

The National Institute of Standardization of Moldova reports that 3024 European and 445 international standards were adopted as national standards in 2025 alone.
