
In comparison, the flow of air passengers from Romania increased by 11.1% and the EU as a whole by 2.7%.
High growth rates of air passenger traffic were recorded in Bosnia and Herzegovina (+18%), Georgia (+15.6%), Uzbekistan (+15%), Slovakia (+14.7%), Poland (+13.2%) and Slovenia (+13.1%).
Developed countries with an established air transportation system have more modest growth rates – Germany 3.2%, Spain 2.5%, Italy 1.7%.
At the same time, a decrease in the flow of air passengers was recorded in Estonia (-5.8%), Latvia (-5.1%), Iceland (-4.9%), France (-1%) and the United Kingdom (-0.3%).
“September once again confirmed the overall resilience of passenger traffic, consolidating the positive trend seen in the summer,” said ACI Europe CEO Olivier Jankovec.
