Ukrainian Ambassador to Moldova Paun Rogoway said that the construction project had faced financial difficulties, but there were no plans to stop it. Both sides are actively looking for new sources of financing.
The ambassador said that the bridge is of strategic importance for both states, which is why he is confident that the project will be realized.
“The main thing is the political will of both countries and mutual economic interest, so I am confident that this project will be realized in the near future,” Rogoway commented.
We will remind, Ukraine and Moldova signed an agreement on the construction of a bridge across the Dniester in June 2023.
The Yampol bridge will become an alternative to the ferry crossing at the border crossing “Yampol – Cosauti”, which has not been working for several years. It will also become a key link in the transportation corridor between Kiev and Chisinau.
In addition, thanks to the bridge, Ukrainian exporters will have the shortest route from the center of Ukraine to the countries of Central and South-Eastern Europe, bypassing Transnistria.
