“This year’s exhibition was focused on the ability of the fruit growing sector to adapt to the tightening climatic, economic and geopolitical conditions,” notes Vitalie Gorincioi, president of the Moldova Fruct Association. – There is no point in discussing the future of the fruit growing sector in Moldova without investments, modern technologies and real cooperation of all fruit business operators, all links of the production and commercial cycle. We can say that Moldovan fruits have already reached the tables of consumers in the European Union – a result that honors us. But it also encourages us to be responsible for maintaining stable quality, competitiveness and consumer confidence. Unfortunately, today’s horticultural farmers have no shortage of problems, but it also forces us all to become better, more efficient and more united. I am glad that this year, Moldova Fruct Association has focused its activities on technologies, innovations and solutions for adaptation to climate change. This is exactly the direction in which we need to move”.

“This spring was very difficult, weather disasters caused damage to many fruit plantations,” said Ludmila Catlabula, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, during the official part of the exhibition. – We are finalizing the process of damage analysis, the government will intervene in the situation and offer farmers clear support measures for those affected”.

This year’s Fruit Day exhibition was held in the orchard of the company Fani SRL (Micheleşti). This company is one of the biggest exporters of stone fruits in RM. “We strongly believe in the potential of Moldovan horticulture, and that is why we decided to invest in production and post-harvest infrastructure,” states Ștefan Bitlan, manager of the company. – We want to be responsible not only for the quality of our products, but also to maintain high standards of social and environmental responsibility”.

“This year at the exhibition we are presenting new varieties of fruit with patent protection, imported from Germany under a partnership contract with a specialized company,” said Dorin Talmaci, representative of Raludor-Expo SRL. – We are talking about plum, cherry, peach and apricot. All our planting material is supplied with a blue label, which corresponds to the international phytosanitary standard of the “Certificate” category. Licensed varieties are an added market value and additional security guarantees for Moldovan producers. Also, starting this year, we offer fruit producers the possibility to grow cherries in digitized greenhouses”.

This year the exhibition was attended by about 450 farmers from all regions of the country.
