According to the draft, after the indexation, the minimum income for an adult will amount to 1,869 lei and for a child to 1,944 lei. The indexation coefficient is equal to 1.0684, which corresponds to a 6.84% increase in consumer prices in December 2025 compared to December 2024.

The implementation of the project does not require the allocation of additional funds from the state budget, as the renewal of the minimum guaranteed monthly income, starting from April 1, 2026, is already included in the state budget. Indexation of the minimum guaranteed income is carried out within the framework of the general mechanism of indexation of social security and social assistance payments annually on April 1.

According to the projections for 2026, the average number of social assistance beneficiaries is estimated at 16,157 per month, with an average monthly payment of about MDL 2,400. Thus, for the implementation of the Law on Social Assistance in 2026, funds in the amount of 580,377.6 thousand lei have been approved, of which 4,377.6 thousand lei are earmarked for distribution services and 576,000.0 thousand lei for benefit payments, including the effect of indexation as of April 1, 2026.
