Microsoft appointed Gabriela Popescu as Country Manager for Romania, Moldova and CIS countries
Popescu joined Microsoft Romania in 2017 and until recently served as interim CEO, also overseeing corporate, external and legal affairs in Central Europe.
According to a company press release, she has experience in legal, regulatory and commercial matters, with a particular focus on compliance and public policy issues in Central and Eastern Europe.
“In my new role, I look forward to working closely with clients, partners and government agencies to help organizations leverage cloud and AI technologies in a way that delivers real value, builds resilience and supports sustainable economic growth. Digital transformation is not just about technology. It’s about trust, skills and long-term partnerships, and that’s the approach Microsoft is taking today and will continue to take in the years to come,” said Gabriela Popescu.
Microsoft officially announced the start of trading operations and entry into the Moldovan market on April 13, 2006. From that moment, it started actively promoting licensed software and later cloud services (including Office 365 from 2013).
