This provision has been supplemented with the Technical Requirements for Cash Register Equipment (CRE) in force in Moldova. A new condition, to which a taxpayer’s cash register must obligatorily comply, has been introduced in the table – “Payment by means of instant payments system”.

The amendment to the Regulation was made by the Interdepartmental Commission for Cash Control Equipment and entered into force on April 9, 2026 after publication.

Until now, when paying for goods or services through the MIA system, a taxpayer had to use a cash register and issue cash receipts/fiscal documents to payers or send them electronically to the purchaser’s phone number or e-mail address, indicating code 9 – “Payment by other payment instrument”.

These requirements will also apply to applications for the inclusion of CCOs in the Unified Register of Cash Register Equipment, which are in the process of consideration by the Center for Information Technologies in Finance (CTIF).
