Previously, this feature, introduced by Meta, allowed users to correct messages, change the style and tone of communication, AntiMalware writes. Now the AI will analyze correspondence and suggest relevant responses, which should simplify communication and reduce typing time. In this way, the company aims to keep users within the application’s ecosystem, reducing the need to turn to third-party services.
At the same time, the introduction of automatic responses may cause mixed reactions. While in business correspondence such tools look appropriate, in personal chats the use of AI may be perceived as excessive interference. Meta emphasizes that the use of this function preserves the confidentiality of messages.
In addition to AI tools, the update includes a number of practical improvements. Users will be able to manage device memory more flexibly – delete large files directly in individual chats without affecting the entire history of correspondence.
Another area is working with images. Built-in Meta AI capabilities will allow you to edit photos directly in the dialog: remove unnecessary objects, change the background or apply visual effects.
The company is also expanding data transfer functions. In particular, it will be possible to transfer chat history between devices on different platforms, including the transition from iPhone to Android. In addition, iOS users will be able to use two WhatsApp accounts on one device for the first time – previously this option was available only on Android.
The rollout of the new features has already begun and will take place in stages. In the near future, the updates will be available to a wide audience of users around the world.
