
This decline became the lowest in six years. The last time Mercedes showed a lower profit in 2019 – 1.64 billion euros. Revenue at the end of last year also decreased – by 9%, to 145.59 billion euros notes portal bb.lv, referring to the data of the German company. To the fall in financial performance led to a decline in demand in Europe and China, as well as U.S. customs duties.
Last year Mercedes sold a total of about 2.1 million cars of different types. Passenger cars totaled 1.8 million units – 9% less than in 2024. The decline in sales in China was particularly noticeable – by 19%. China remains the most important market for Mercedes. The company sold almost a third of its passenger cars there in 2025.
Profit growth is expected in 2026
These results were in line with forecasts and were driven by a “clear focus on efficiency, speed and flexibility,” commented Mercedes CEO Ola Källenius on the financial results.
The company expects consolidated revenue to remain at the same level in 2026 and operating profit to grow. Mercedes reacted to the difficult situation a year ago and announced a cost-cutting program. According to the plan, production and fixed costs should be reduced by 10% by 2027.
