
The holiday issue is fully dedicated to Europe, and one of the key figures of the special issue is the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu.
According to edition The banker personally formed a circle of key speakers and secured an interview with Maia Sandu. During a short stopover on the way from Lithuania, where Maia Sandu made an official visit on March 10-11, the head of state stopped by the video studio of Die Presse in Vienna for a special interview. In particular, she spoke about the war in Ukraine and Moldova’s European prospects.
“Even before the geopolitical upheavals, we realized that it is difficult for a small and still fragile democracy to survive alone. That’s why we are pushing so hard for Moldova’s European integration – to become part of a larger family in which we will feel safer. We need to move forward quickly,” Sandu told Die Presse.
She also emphasized that Moldova considers the EU as a security space and a possible unification with Romania “as a backup option”.
The issue also includes a conversation with former Italian Prime Minister Enrico Letta, Czech politician Andrej Babiš and other influential figures from the European continent.
Andreas Treichl is one of the most influential financial figures in the region. He was actively involved in the preparation of the issue: he set the concept, wrote the texts, conducted interviews, developed the questionnaire, provided his contacts and even shared his personal playlist.
The project goes beyond the usual media issue and is an attempt to discuss the future of the EU and the place of Eastern European countries in the new geopolitical reality through an influential European platform.
